Mid December on the Farm

While things are frosty and frozen outside, and I am contemplating the list of pre-winter chores I didn’t complete before earth received her white mantle of grace, I spend a good deal of time reading. Thankfully the farm shelves are well stocked with volumes about organic gardening and living in harmony with nature, or I would be re-reading Stephen King and John Grisham until spring’s thaw.

We look to be in for a few brutally cold days here before another day as beautiful as today, and that beauty may come in the guise of liquid sunshine that coats the fields, trees, and roads with a slick mess. Be careful out there, wherever your appointed rounds take you and keep warm thoughts in this holiday season, and every season!
